Year End Google Local Search Findings

As we enter the last days of 2004 the inevitable "round-up" and "year-in-review" articles start showing up.

Google published their 2004 year end round up this week. After all the porn words have been filtered out, Britney Spears tops the list as Google's most popular search term for 2004 (Let's all now bow our heads in shame).

They also broke-out stats on local search queries. The most interesting from my perspective are the top local professional services searches in 2004. They are in this order:

1. Real Estate
2. Attorney
3. Insurance Broker
4. Car Dealer
5. Hair Salon

Other local search queries of note include the most popular entertainment local searches for 2004. Finding the nearest spa followed by movie, nightclub, nearest pub and zoo topped the list.
