Giving Pay-Per-Call A Try
If you have been reading my blog, and know a little about Internet Marketing, you should be familiar with pay-per-click advertising. If not, basically it is a quick way to get you company and message in front of Internet searchers as they search for information in Google, Yahoo, MSN and others.
There is something new on the horizon and I am starting to test it. It's taking pay-per-click one step further: Pay-Per-Call. It is the same basic set-up as pay-per-click (you bid on keywords to list in the paid area of searches). What is different, you guessed it, the advertiser doesn't pay until a searcher calls (an 800 number that is forwarded to a number you provide).
The one major vendor for this service is Ingenio. Listings will be seen in searches at AOL and others to be announced in April. Sounds intriguing, though it is pricier than pay-per-click.
I'll let you know how it goes.
